Fe3O4: STICK OUT
“STICK OUT”, the 2nd episode of 3rd series “Fe3O4”.
The girls remain in the FIELD of the real world and realize that utopia is a space they must build themselves through fierce contemplation. To pave their path to MIXXTOPIA with more people, NMIXX must confront and challenge societal norms and customs that confine and categorize them in the FIELD.
“STICK OUT” marks the girls' daring second venture into the world.
Our self-made utopia: Revealing you and me as we are to the world
NMIXX who broke the wall reveal themselves to the world. To some, the girls, who defy stereotypes, may seem jarring and annoying, like a screw nail that sticks out. They tut at the girls, but the girls aren't easily swayed. Because they have decided to love themselves for who they are, like stars in the sky that are spiky yet shine.
And so, the girls behave like a nuisance and keep popping out like moles. They aren't embarrassed about showing their own world. They stay true to themselves.
And so, you don't have to break or cut your spikes, either. Because the girls will love your spiky yet gleaming sides without a doubt.
1. See that?
The title song, "See That?," is a MIXX POP that combines a groovy rhythm-based old-school hip-hop and country genre, showcasing NMIXX's chic charms in a new light. Despite its laid-back vibe, there's a colorful spectrum of bleak humming, a free-spirited country segment, and a magnificent sing-along section in the song's finale. In addition, it's a song where you can enjoy spotting the dual meaning behind the expression "See That."
2. SICKUHH (Feat. Kid Milli)
Opening with an intense intro, "SICKUHH (Feat. Kid Milli)" boasts powerful basslines, hip-hop drum beats, and an addictive chorus. NMIXX's bold and unique rap delivery is particularly impressive, juxtaposing fierce verses with restrained choruses that demonstrate their diverse charms. The song embodies a spirit of rebellion to shock the world like black sheep, which breaks the rules. Rapper Kid Milli graced the song by participating as a songwriter and featuring in it.
3. Red light sign, but we go
"Red light sign, but we go" is an electronic dance song that combines heavy bass with unique synthetic sounds, expanding NMIXX's musical universe. Based on simple but rhythmic beats, the catchy chorus and grand post-chorus sections stand out. In particular, the song delivers each member's different personalities and charms through the rap, which repeats the song's title. The song figuratively expresses NMIXX's attitude: although they may seem perverse to others, they will advance together without fear, regardless of the imminent dangers.
4. BEAT BEAT
"BEAT BEAT" is an upbeat dance-pop track characterized by dynamic transitions, showcasing the members' vocal versatility amid raging variations. The post-chorus, led by a speedy rap after the weighty, repetitive "Daridam, Daridam" in the chorus, makes your heart beat like the song's title. The lyrics express the fluttering sensation through the "beat" of heartbeats and the "beat" of the rhythm through music.
5. Moving On
"Moving On" is a pop/rock music infused with cool, refreshing band sounds, capturing NMIXX's sentiments and energy. The lyrical guitar riff transitions into an energetic intro, a dreamy verse, a chorus with young vibes, and the bridge with a sing-along in NMIXX's uniquely hopeful vibes. In a world where you feel like the only incomplete satellite, where everyone seems radiant, and expectations always let you down, all you can do is trust yourself. The song depicts youth overcoming yet another day full of false hope with ambiguous yet distinct beliefs.
6. Love Is Lonely
"Love Is Lonely" is a pop song that combines acoustic guitar with EDM-style rhythms. It's a song with a somewhat heart-rending and fond sensation. The emotions expressed placidly with the members' attractive tones resonate deeply. The song tells the devastating yet romantic fate of two outsiders who recognize each other at the end of a precarious wandering, although the end of the universe still remains in the realm of the unknown.
